Gabbard promises to strengthen ties between the US and India

In a post on X, US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard expressed her excitement for fortifying US-Indian relations.

She added on Friday, “We are looking forward to further strengthening the US-India friendship, and it was an honour to welcome India’s Prime Minister @narendramodi back to the United States.”

The remark was tweeted by Gabbard in response to the Prime Minister’s post regarding their Wednesday meeting.

During his most recent trips, Gabbard was the Prime Minister’s first significant guest. Shortly after his arrival and hours after taking the oath of office following her confirmation earlier in the day, she paid him a visit on Wednesday evening at Blair House, a US government building where Modi resided.

An veteran Indian hand, Gabbard is the United States’ new top spy. As a Democrat serving in the US House of Representatives, she was also co-chair of the India Caucus and had a personal contact with the Prime Minister, who sent presents to her 2015 Hawaii wedding through an emissary.

In reality, there are two previous co-chairs of the India Caucus in the Trump administration. The other is National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, a former Republican Lawmaker who served in the House of Representatives and co-chaired the caucus alongside Democrat Ro Khanna.

Waltz was the prime minister’s second guest, calling on him Thursday morning. Elon Musk, the millionaire owner of SpaceX and Tesla, arrived shortly after, accompanied by his family, including X, the five-year-old who can be seen perched on his father’s shoulder in settings as diverse as the Oval Office and the halls of the US Capitol, which houses the US Congress. Vivek Ramaswamy was the Prime Minister’s third high-profile visitor at Blair House.
