Located in the Western Ghats of the Konkan region, Goa is the smallest state in terms of territory in all of India. Goa’s tourism industry is booming due to the region’s ideal combination of sun, surf, and beaches. Karnataka forms Goa’s eastern and southern boundaries, Maharashtra its northern border, and the Arabian Sea its western shore.
1. Palolem Beach
Palolem Beach is a great place for friends and family to hang together. With the sea on one side and hills on the other, the beach offers breathtaking scenery. A mangrove backwater is available for boating. It’s easily accessible by road and takes approximately two hours to go from Panjim. There is more than enough parking for sizable groups. Visitors may get food and other necessities at the many general stores and eateries in the beach area. There’s a full-fledged market close by, offering more shopping options. From here, there are unique boat trips to Turtle Rock, Honeymoon Beach, and Butterfly Island. Either by reserving a seat individually or by sharing with others. These cruises offer the chance to explore the mangrove areas and witness seagulls and dolphins (morning ride). There are kayaking, boating, and other water sport possibilities available at the beach.
2. Agonda Beach
The six km of Agonda beach are ideal for a peaceful stroll. We spent three days at a single little beachside resort. There were lots of people enjoying yoga, meditation, and the dawn and sunset in this peaceful, uncrowded place. We visited only one clean beach in Goa during our stay. The water is lovely and the sea is also clean. I only rated it four stars because, although it’s a common occurrence in India, we weren’t upset by the cows wandering around and urinating everywhere. The fact that they all go out in unison is really neat.
3. Baga Beach
The only beach where we could easily park our car in a designated spot. close to the Saturday night market in Arpora. Don’t miss the great meal at Fat Fish Restaurant. The excursion came to a wonderful close with dinner at Britto’s.
4. Basilica of Bom Jesus
This is a gorgeous cathedral that is a must-see to learn about Goa’s history. Come early to avoid the crowds and make time to see the neighbouring museums and St. Augustine’s tower. It is a lovely place to light candles and is a wonderful place for both young and old to visit. Since my kids were little, my family and I have visited this place; it’s always a wonderful experience!
5. Cavelossim Beach
Nestled between Mobor Beach and Zalor, Cavelossim Beach is one of my favourite coastal spots and has been a part of my travel memories for a long time. Even though it has grown highly commercialised and draws a sizable number of visitors, peaceful areas can still be discovered. A sight to behold is Cavelossim Beach’s magnificent sunsets. It meets the needs and tastes of each visitor with plenty of parking spaces and a wide range of shacks, eateries, and hotels nearby. Cavelossim Beach is the excellent beach for all kinds of people since it provides the ideal balance of both a bustling and dynamic ambiance and a serene place to unwind.
6. Varca Beach
Stunning beach, immaculate and secure. Every day, we spent a few hours strolling, and we never encountered salespeople attempting to upsell us. Wonderful beach shacks with amazing sunsets; the best one we tried was Sea Pearls, which is right next to the Caravela Beach hotel. Turn left as you enter the beach.
7. Benaulim Beach
One of Goa’s cleanest beaches is Benaulim Beach. It’s easy to walk on the soft, white sand. During the day, one can swim quite a distance into the water because the waves are not too severe. There are usually life guards nearby. Water is not available on the beach, so bring your own with you. For food and drink, there are several excellent beachside eateries.
8. Dudhsagar Falls
A “must do” for everyone visiting Goa is the Dudhsagar Falls. The falls themselves have several tiers and are really spectacular. It takes roughly 45 minutes to go from the parking lot to the top of the mountain in a jeep. The windows of the jeeps are open. By the time your journey is over, the reddish-orange dirt will have taken on a hint of crimson in your garments. Therefore, wear clothing that isn’t too light or white. Although a little steep, it is rather manageable.
9. Candolim Beach
Located close to Fort Aguda and other well-known beaches in Goa, Candolim Beach is a year-round tourist attraction. Its diverse array of water sports, beachside shacks, and affordable dining options are what make it so appealing. Its appeal to vegetarian diners is further enhanced by the availability of a wide variety of pure vegetarian eating options. The beach itself is lovely, but because of its popularity, it can get rather crowded.
10. Arambol Beach
Arambol Beach is a wide stretch of sandy beach that is tidy and less busy. Unlike several other beaches in the area, this one is renowned for being clean-both in the water and on the sand. A wide range of dining alternatives are available from a number of food shacks, some of which have superior food than the congested, nearby regions of Baga and Calangute.
It’s regarded as one of the top surfing beaches. The beach is less busy, but the Coast Guard is still visible, so everyone is protected.
There are plenty of non-commercial activities, which makes it the perfect place for leisurely strolls and taking in the sea breeze. It may be busier in the northern area along the hill. In addition, adventure seekers can choose to go paragliding.
Another hidden gem at Arambol Beach is Sweet Water Lake, which is only a short stroll from the main beach area and is still mostly unexplored by visitors.
