India’s amazing progress in the technology and telecommunications industries is ushering in a new era of digital leadership and economic prosperity, said Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, Minister for Communications and Development in the North-East Region, on Monday.
Speaking at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona, the minister announced that the 9th India Mobile Congress (IMC) will be held in New Delhi from October 8 to 11, 2025.
“Under the visionary guidance of our Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we are witnessing a fundamental transformation that is empowering citizens and fostering innovation,” said Scindia.
IMC 2025, organised by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), is expected to be a major event for industry leaders, politicians, and technology enthusiasts alike.
It will provide a forum for discussing the future of connection, sustainability, and digital innovation, as well as addressing significant issues and possibilities in the rapidly changing global digital environment.
The forum will also highlight recent technological developments and innovations, providing a rare opportunity for worldwide specialists to collaborate.
“India is set to take lead in emerging technologies like 6G, AI & Quantum and the IMC has played a pivotal role in this journey, serving as a catalyst for progress in telecom and technology sectors,” she said.
The 2025 edition will highlight breakthroughs in several key sectors, including 5G and 6G, Artificial Intelligence (AI), semiconductors, electronics manufacturing, quantum computing, cybersecurity, satellite communications, deep-tech, clean-tech, smart mobility, Industry 4.0, and enterprise transformation.
One of the event’s centrepieces will be ASPIRE, a pioneering startup program that promotes innovation and growth.
The event will also include mentorship seminars, live pitches, networking opportunities, and prospective collaborations.
It is projected to draw over 1,000 entrepreneurs, as well as more than 300 investors, incubators, accelerators, and venture capitalists.
Meanwhile, over 900 technology use case scenarios were presented at last year’s IMC, including 750 AI-based instances.
