NDA Chief Ministers meet following Delhi CM’s swearing-in; PM Modi attends

A meeting of Chief colleagues from National Democratic Alliance (NDA)-ruled states began in the national capital on Thursday, just hours after new Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and her Cabinet colleagues were sworn in at the city’s historic Ramlila Ground.

The meeting was attended by chief ministers from BJP-controlled states as well as those ruled by major NDA coalition partners, the TDP and the JD (U).

TDP President and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu attended the meeting, however Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was conspicuously absent.

The meeting was supposed to concentrate on governance strategy, policy cooperation, and preparations for approaching elections in NDA-ruled states.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah was among the first to arrive at the Imperial Hotel, where the NDA-ruled states’ chief ministers will meet.

The BJP’s partners at the NDA meeting congratulated the new Delhi Chief Minister on the party’s landslide victory, citing the party’s dedication to public concerns and Prime Minister Modi’s widespread appeal.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also attended her first NDA meeting, which was presided over by Prime Minister Modi.

Earlier in the day, PM Modi welcomed the newly sworn-in Chief Minister and her team of six ministers.

PM Modi stated that the team perfectly balances enthusiasm and expertise and will undoubtedly deliver effective administration in Delhi.

PM Modi took to social media after the oath ceremony, writing on X, “Congratulations to Smt. Rekha Gupta Ji on taking oath as Chief Minister of Delhi.” She has climbed from the grassroots, participating in student politics, state organisations, municipal government, and is now an MLA and Chief Minister.”

He expressed confidence in her ability to work for Delhi’s development, writing, “I am confident she will work for Delhi’s development with full vigour.” I wish her a fruitful tenure.”
